I have to do a resume project for a protist. I can't seem to find out what a protist is..

OpenStudy (blues):

A protist is a single celled organism. Unlike bacteria, which are also single celled organisms, protists all have a nucleus. Bacteria don't. So the general textbook definition of a protist is just a "eukaryotic, unicellular organism." Just a note: they can be unicellular, but still live together in aggregates. These are called "colonial protists" and to some extent do blur the definition between what is a 'single cellular' and 'multicellular' organism.

Could you give me an example of a protist.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Water molds?

OpenStudy (blues):

You see, from that question I have no idea if "example" means you are interested in an entire phylum or a single species. For more info you should read the Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protists...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Single species.
