I get rt27.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve the triangle: 6^2=h^2 + (3sqrt2)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{27}?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm maybe i'm wrong, i got somethin diffnt... i got 3sqrt2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the base is a square side 6 so the diagnol of that square is 6sqrt2 (45-45-90 triangle) half of that is 3sqrt2. the slant going up to the vertex of the pyrmid is 6 (that's your hypotenuse). the third side is the height, h. so 6^2=h^2 + (3sqrt2)^2 is what i used to find h.

Don't you need to split the triangle? |dw:1337487874941:dw|
