What is the domain of f(x)=log(x)+7?

OpenStudy (ledah):

f(x)=log(x)+7 is {x element R : x>0} (all positive real numbers) (assuming a function from reals to reals).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! =) So my answer would be x>0

OpenStudy (ledah):

Are there any other values to the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x>7

OpenStudy (ledah):

Here's an example: the domain of log u is u > 0 thus, the domain of log (49 - x^2) is 49 - x^2 > 0 (7 - x)(7 + x) > 0 this happens when either both factors are positive, or both are negative in this case, the domain is (-7 , 7), or -7 < x < 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whoops, I meant to type it x<7 =) Thank you!!

OpenStudy (ledah):

your welcome
