given f(x) =10x +1, what is the domain of the function as expressed in interval notation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since f is a ploynomial the domain is all real numbers so (-inf, inf)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. So if they are all real number then its inf, inf... But if the first is a real number and the second was not, it would be inf, 7 (for example)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry yeah i didnt read your question right and - infinity to 7 :)

The class is starting to get silly in the expressions. Its no longer just evaluating or solving, but explaining. Thanks again

So just so I know that I am getting this... here is another example. g(x) = 6x^2 -9x this function contains a negative number... -9x so it can not be all real numbers. But because 6x^ produces a real number and -9x does not, the the notation would be Inf, 9 ?
