Domain: f(x)= 1/(x+2)+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, bye...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yay your online! =) Please help me out @dpaInc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the domain of a function is all the x's (numbers) you can put in for x and you'll get a real number.... does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kind of =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.. so the best way to do this is think of what number you can put in so that you will not get an answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whenever you have a rational function, just think what will make the denominator = 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for this a -2 would cancel the +2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct... so your domain is any x except x=-2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you still got it.. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay! =) Thanks so much!

yw...:)
