the letter PERIMETER are place in the bag ,you draw out one letter then you pick a second letter without replacing the first one ,how would you calculate the probability that both letters are vowles?

OpenStudy (egenriether):

The probability of picking any vowel is the ratio of vowels to total number of possible letters. In the original word there are 4 vowels out of 9 letters. The next time, assuming you picked a vowel the first time (the only case we're interested in calculating here), there are only 3 vowels out of 8 possible letters. The total probability is given by the product of both probabilities P = (4/9)*(3/8) = 0.16667
