which two lines are parallel? 1.5y=2x-5 2.5y=-4+3x 3.5y-3x-7

OpenStudy (blacksteel):

I assume that's supposed to be 3. 5y = 3x-7 In order for two lines to be parallel, they must have the same slope. The slope is the coefficient of x when the coefficient of y is 1. As we can see, the coefficients of x if we divide both sides of each equation by 5 to isolate y will be: 1. 2/5 2. 3/5 3. 3/5 Hence, 2 and 3 are parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that was rite. 3.5y-3x=-1
