HEEEELP! Determine the equation of the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they have the same slope of 4x - 3y + 15 = 0 and the same y-int. of 2x + y + 6= 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find slope of 4x - 3y + 15 = 0 Rearrange it, 3y= 4x+15 y= 4/3x + 5 Slope = 4/3 Find the y-intercept of 2x + y + 6= 0 When x = 0, y= -6 So now you have the point (0, -6) Putting it all together into the a new line equation of y=mx+c Substituting in the slope you got earlier 4/3 and the point (0,-6) -6= 4/3(0) + c c= -6 Equation of Line, y = 4/3 x -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get the "5"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the y=4/3x + 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3y= 4x+15 To get, y= 4/3x + 5, i divide the above equation by 3 through, this is to simplify the equation. so the 5 is gotten when i divide 15 by 3.
