I need to know this picture graph works. What does kw stand for? and why do you have to divide it likt $/kw? The picture is below.
kW stands for KiloWatt
are you sure?
Yeah it's kilowatt
Absolutety :)
how am I supposed to find the price by dividing it by kilowatt?
You are given the price/per kilowatt already.
actually no
The graph was on this website underneth vehical cost http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fcv_benefits.shtml
The horizontal is $/kw, the vertical is years, so in 2002 the cost was $248/kw, they are attempting to reduce it to $30/kw by 2015, that is what the chart is telling you.
Sorry, my axes are reversed.
it is telling me that the price is going down but what is the real cost in US dollars? I am doing this for a research project
What do you mean, "what is the real cost"? They do not offer any breakdown in that graph as to where the energy is coming from, what fuels, just that whatever the technology is they are reducing the fuel cell price.
I would like to know how much a hydrogen fuel cost in 2002 and what it cost currently in some kind of currency so my addience can imagen how much it really costs.
If you wanted to buy a fuel cell, in 2002, that produced 1000 watts of energy, it would have cost you $248.00.
so I can say it would cost around 248 US Dollars per watt in 202 right?
2002 *
No, per 1000 watts. kilowatt
oh, I see, wow, you helpped me sooo much, thank you best answer. :)
If you want per watt it would have been $0.25.. You're welcome. :)
yeah, I get it now
