Help me? :) --- Three congruent kites are placed together edge-to-edge as shown. The bottom edge is 11x and the top edge is 7x. How much bigger than the perimeter of one kite is the perimeter of the entire figure?

If it helps, the choices are A) 18x B) 28x C) 32x D) 36x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract what though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know that one kite's perimeter is 2(7x +11x) = 36x. 36x+36x+36x=108x 108x-36x= 72x this means entire figure is 72 times bigger than one kite

I'm confused, but I'll just put the answer as 36x then lol. Thanks

question asks that how much the perimeter of the whole figure( i.e perimeter of k1 + perimeter of k2 + perimeter of k3 ) is greater then one kite .... but the perimeter of one kite is 36x answer will be 36x and whole figure is 72 times the size of one kite ok

Ahh ok :)

Sadly, I'll have a lot more questions posted on here. I'm finishing up my Liberal Arts Math course and have 4 tests to take before tonight lol. Thanks for all the help thus far!

np you are always welcome ... we all are here for help

no the perimeter will be 28x bigger original kite is 11x+11x+7x+7x right this figure will have outer edges of 11x+11x+7x+7x+(7x+7x+7x+7x) so 28x bigger |dw:1337812767882:dw|
