how do you factor 3x^2 + 25x + 46?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would use the quadratic equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x = (-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac})/2a\] in your equation a = 3, b=25, and c =46

OpenStudy (nali):

u can not factor this one so to find the values of the x, use the quadratic equation adn Ceriona had stated earlier by plugging in a = 3, b=25, and c =46.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

agreed with ^^. after you have that, write it out as (x - r1)(x - r2) where r1, r2 are the solutions you got from the quadratic equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r1, r2 are irrational, so if you were expecting "nice" answers, the expression can't be factorable.

OpenStudy (precal):

if you were asked to factor this the correct response is that it is prime

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like optimus...

OpenStudy (precal):

I concur
