One of the most accurate formulas for predicting the height of a preschool child is called the Jenss model. If x represents the child's age in years (between ¼ and 6), the height h(x) (in centimeters) of the child can be approximated by h(x) = 79.041 + 6.39x - e^(3.261-0.993x.) Using this model, predict at what age a child's rate of growth is largest, and at what age its rate of growth is smallest. Remember, the model is only valid on the domain ¼ < x < 6 (Only analytic methods are valid)

You can't use calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did, I took the 2nd derivative and set it to zero. It didn't compute correctly.
