What is the approximate volume of a cylinder with a diameter of 20 meters and a height of 5 meters? Use 3.14 for pi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look up the formula for volume of a cylinder on google then plug your numbers in

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

\[V=\pi r^2h=3.14*(10m)^2*5m=?\]

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

You can solve it from there RioAnne :) What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just think it is the area of the circle times the height that makes intuitive sense and if you can remember the formula for area of a circle you will never forget

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1570

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Bingo :)

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

\[m^3\]

thanks

My pleasure. Good luck!
