Geometry please help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the words are too small I cant see them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it might be a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

choice one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok hold one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What part couldn't you read? All of it or just the choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Btw you have to match the statements with the correct reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will not take any chances i need for sure answers please....

OpenStudy (phi):

This looks like you have the 4 statements that make up a proof, and you have to click on the box and select the reason why each statement is valid. For example, the first statement is FH bisects angle GHK and angle GFK you must select the reason why this is a valid statement. I would expect a choice like "Given" is the right answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ASA Reflexive Property Definition of Angle Bisector Given It's insane because they don't tell you what any of these terms more nor do they give any examples that's why im stuck and about to die!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that the second one is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Third B and last C?

OpenStudy (phi):

Why? There are 4 statements and 4 reasons. The first statement's reason is "Given" The 2nd statement is angle GHF = angle KHF and angle GFH = angle KHF now, you have 3 possible reasons for why this statement is true: ASA, Reflexive, definition of angle bisector. So, how do we know angle GHF equals angle KHF ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause of the line FH? because it's bisecting the triangle right?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the second one is C?

OpenStudy (phi):

the 3rd statement is FH = FH and we have only 2 possible reasons left: ASA, or reflexive You need to know what these mean to pick the correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is reflexive for sure

OpenStudy (phi):

reflexive means a thing is equal to itself ASA is short hand for Angle-Side-Angle. That is short hand for saying "two triangles are congruent if they have equal angle, side, angle in that order"

OpenStudy (phi):

so you now have all 4 reasons assigned to all four statements.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank God man, and thank you! You got my gears turning again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They actually gave us a whole page of terms and theorems but they don't explain the theorems well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Btw what does ~ this mean? For example Which fact could you use to help prove that ΔAED~ΔBEC using Angle-Angle? It's in my next question
