When quoting a long block quote in the MLA format, it is indented without quotation marks. What if it is a long block quotation of someone quoting someone else? Do I use quotations or how do I do an in-text citation?

I would say that if you are quoting using the source that has someone quoting another person, you should still quote without quotation marks. Another option would be to find the original source of the quote and use that as a source instead. But, before you hand in your paper, you should probably double check with your teacher on what he or she wants.

The rules of MLA format say that you must use the abbreviation "qtd. in" in your parenthesis. For example: According to Edmond Burke, "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it" (qtd. in Bernanke). The fact that it is a long block-style quote does not matter. Just be sure to put the actual source used in the parenthesis and give the person being quoted reference in the lead-in.
