Three congruent kites are placed together edge-to-edge as shown. The bottom edge is 7x and the top edge is 2x. How much bigger than the perimeter of one kite is the perimeter of the entire figure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one kite perimeter: 2.2x+2.7x figure:2.7x+6.2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The perimeter is the sum of the sides of a figure. Only use the outer borders. Each kite is 4x + 14x. The entire figure is 12x + 14x.

so it's 4.2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RaphaelFilgueiras No, I believe the answer is 8x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.2x=8x!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Err, what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you both got it right
