so in order to do this one oyu have to know what all those words mean
OpenStudy (eyust707):
"quantity" means open parentheses.. i usually close them at the end of the sentence or just before the next 'quantity"
"all over" means everything before it is divided by what come after
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its just 2x^2 + 13x + 20 OVER x^2 - 5x - 36
OpenStudy (eyust707):
oh ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and idk how to simplify it

You've written two different things...
Is it this?
(2x^2 + 13x + 20) / (x^2 - 5x - 36)
or this?
(2x^2 + 16x + 30) / (5x^2 + 13x + 6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the first one
OpenStudy (eyust707):
(2x + 5) ( x + 4) / (x+4) (x-9)
OpenStudy (eyust707):
im not exactly sure the method to use...
OpenStudy (eyust707):
i kinda just guessed and checked...

since it said simply i had an idea that it would factor
OpenStudy (eyust707):
and that two of them would be the same
OpenStudy (eyust707):
from there the (x+4) s cancel and your your left with (2x+5)/(x-9)
