OpenStudy (nali):

how do i know when to put +2n pi or +n pi when solving for sin^2/cos^2/tan^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not clear.

OpenStudy (nali):

when do i put +2npi and +npi when solving for sin^2 x?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

inverse trig functions are bounded to two quadrants, sin and tan are 1 and 4 and cos is 1 and 2, so if you do an inverse tan and get something in the 4th but need it to be in the second you add pi

OpenStudy (nali):

i do not get ur answer

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

do you have an example?

OpenStudy (nali):

ok

OpenStudy (nali):

2 cos 3x-1 = 0

OpenStudy (nali):
