if a line segment has endpoints A(3x+5, 3y) and B(x-1, -y), what are the coordinates of the midpoint of AB?
\[M=(\frac{x_1+x_2+x_3}{2},\frac{y_1+y_2+y_3}{2})\]
i tried that but got stuck
any other help?
So I don't know what sam is talking about but to find the midpoint you should add the x co-ordinates. So do that and tell me what you get.
Sam is talking about the midpoint formula. http://www.purplemath.com/modules/midpoint.htm
@IvoryKnight Then if that is the midpoint formula you linked to why does sam have (x1+x2+x3)/2?
I think he typed it wrong.
@Jessicabo0404 So Jessica, do you want help or not?
