How do i find a slope for y=5?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

slope is change in y / change in x, so you have a change in y = 0, so 0 / change in x (anything other than 0) give you ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m=0

OpenStudy (jkristia):

yep

OpenStudy (jkristia):

it is a horizontal line, so there is no change in y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks can I ask you for help on another one?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

and the slop for x = 3 is ? .... in this case you have the change in x = 0 and the change in y = infinity, so infinity / 0 is ? ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

OpenStudy (jkristia):

No actually, dividing by 0 is undefined, so the slope for x = 3 is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so why is y=5 not undefined
