OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I call you guys way too often, but everyone else refuses to answer my questions :-(

OpenStudy (precal):

the 3 and 3 because they are the same number will produce the cardoid

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

How do I do the table of values?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Ti-84 doesn't graph polar, atleast I haven't used it once for it.

OpenStudy (precal):

do you own a graphing calculator? yes it does

OpenStudy (precal):

press mode change it to pol

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I own one, I just barely use it anymore.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Got it, so for the table of values

OpenStudy (precal):

it works, I have one as well, press table duh :)

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I mean the values haha

OpenStudy (precal):

go to 2nd window, change it to ASK (indpnt only) this will allow you to input values for example pi

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Should I be using certain values? Since its polar i'm imaging some values with pi.

OpenStudy (precal):

no, were you given certain values?

OpenStudy (precal):

look at the link, I gave you. Polars produce pretty graphs The Hearts of mathematics (or I would like to think)

OpenStudy (precal):

good luck :)

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

No, not given certain values, but should i use the pi/6, pi/4 etc? just like the first example?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Also I have a question about college math and what classes I should be taking, not sure if you'd know or not.

OpenStudy (precal):

sure, they tend to be the values of the circle (and values associated with trig values)

OpenStudy (precal):

You should follow your degree plan and go talk to your counselor in college. Non math people generally take college algebra but if you want to go to a professional school MED, LAW, etc then the class you need is at least Calculus I. Follow your degree plan because that will determine your graduation

OpenStudy (precal):

yes math and counseling my two favorite topics

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I'm in highschool, so that's not really an option at the moment.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Well, I'm sure you'd know, an Actuary, any classes you'd suggest me taking? I'm taking all Dual Enrollment classes (Classes at a local college) next year, and I can take any math I want.

OpenStudy (precal):

You can see still degree plans online, the beauty of the internet, let your fingers do the walking

OpenStudy (precal):

Actuary are number crunchers, you have to take as many math classes as possible. You must live in the land of math and numbers. Take all the mathematical classes as possible

OpenStudy (precal):

http://www.beanactuary.org/ start here

OpenStudy (precal):

http://www.actuary.com/actuarial-science-schools/ here is a list of schools to look at good luck:) You will be one of the elite when you become an actuary the few, the proud, an actuary

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Hahahaa. Thank you, I honestly don't even care about the salary, I just love math and money and stuff.

OpenStudy (precal):

yes, but having money means you have more choices in life
