What are the domain and range of the function f(x)=4+(1/3)^(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is Domain: x<=-4 and Range: all real numbers @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Domain: set of all real numbers since you can plug in any number for x and some number will pop out for f(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Range: f(x) > 4, this is because as x gets larger and larger, (1/3)^(x-2) will get smaller and smaller (leaving that 4 behind essentially)

Thanks a ton! That makes sense =)

that's great, I'm glad it does
