What would be my major if I wanted to be an actuary?
Probably applied math. Maybe economics as well.
Statistics for sure!
ac·tu·ar·y/ˈakCHo͞oˌerē/ Noun: A person who compiles and analyzes statistics and uses them to calculate insurance risks and premiums.
Or Actuarial science? :O
Even though I know its not required to do that.
Specialist in actuarial science, major/minor in Statistics
Or: Specialist in statistics, major/minor in Accounting
or major statistics, major accounting, major actuarial science? triple major?
Is actuarial science a major? Where I am you would be a math major with a focus on applied math, with a minor or major in economics.
And then enter the actuarial program. I'm not quite sure what it is since it isn't a major or minor.
I live in Florida and I know FSU has an actuuarial program, so I know I'm going to be attending there.
In that case, Actuarial Science as a major, and make sure to take some statistics as well.
Would you suggest me getting my stock brokers license, M.BA and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) exam as well as ASA http://www.soa.org/education/exam-req/edu-asa-req.aspx
I honestly don't know. I'm not an actuary myself, nor do I plan to be one.
