how does a MRI used to study cross sections of the brain with mathematical ways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Very carefully.

Hope that helped, I dont think anyone else can get as specific as I just did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does this mean, "How does an MRI study cross-sections of the brain in mathematical ways?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, the Wikipedia article is flooring me. I thought I comprehended MRIs, but apparently not. Here is Wiki to explain: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_resonance_imaging#How_MRI_works (I'm not saying that that's comprehensible, but you may understand it more than me.)

You need an understanding of electromagnetism, particle physics, and a few other odds and ends of physics to fully understand what's being said. My intro to physics course didn't give me nearly enough of an education to grasp the entire idea being employed. I was going to attempt to explain K-space and Fourier transforms, but K-space baffles me (I've never seen it before) and I haven't explicitly dealt with Fourier transforms.
