How do you find the slope for an equasion and how do you graph it??!!! I NEED HELP PEOPLE!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula is usually y=mx+b m is the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find m, which is the slope, use the following equation: \[(y _{2}-y _{1})/(x _{2}-x _{1})\]

thanks so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what does y and x and tand for? cuz i have to find the slope of an equasion and then graph it.

If you're talking about the formula I gave you, then they are two points on the line graphed. Simply take the x and y values from both coordinates and fill them in. For example, say these were two coordinates that are on your line (1,4) (5, 6) \[X _{1}=2\]\[Y _{1}=4\]\[X _{2}=4\]\[Y _{2}=6\]Substitute those values in the forumla and simplify.
