f(x)=-1/3x^2 vertex=? line of symmetry=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

written in the form f(x)=ax^2 + bx + c your vertex will have x coordinate of -b/(2a)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still need help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you identify in your function what a = , b = , c = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I thought I was looking for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are looking for the vertex and the axis of symmetry... both require x. but the x coordinate of the vertex is obtained from -b/(2a). so if you know what a, b are, you can find the x coordinate of your vertex.
