what is the reason for communist victory in china?
The Communists, under Mao Zedong, were still fresh after WW2. The Nationalists, under Chiang Kai-Shek, had suffered greatly in their fight with the Japanese, which left them weak but still able to fight. The two fought the Japanese together, but the Communists suffered far fewer losses. Mao's Communists were also able to win many of the Chinese peasants (who comprised most of China at the time) to their side bolstering their numbers. Their military tactics and guerilla-style warfare also bled the Nationalists who were still weak after WW2. Simply put, the Communists were better organized, had better morale, and were far more effective tactically in the field. They also didn't suffer the kind of corruption that the Nationalist government was also rife with. The Nationalists were eventually forced to retreat and their army along with their followers fled to present-day Taiwan.
