I'd recommend looking it up in an engineering handbook, personally.. What other information do you have? Pressure, fluid velocity, ..?
Flow rate usually means either mass flow rate or volumetric flow rate; for fluids, it's usually volumetric (liters per second, hundreds of gallons per hour, cubic feet per minute, etc.) If it's a 6-in. diameter circular pipe, then you can get volume flow by multiplying the cross-sectional area times the average fluid velocity.
