#2. In my text book it says Hindu's believe in one God, and worship deities please explain this?
yeah.i worship many deities.my fav. one is hanuman.the god your textbook refers to maybe the soul or atma
we basically believe that every living being in this universe is one, manifestations of a supreme being
#3 Please explain the history of Hinduism?
hinduism is the religion of hindustan or india.the gods and goddesses we worship are mythological, cited in various religious books, such as mahabharata etc.,we've had a great influence due to the invasion of the aryans i.e, moghuls
When did it begin ?
long back,i suppose.its one of the ancient religions.i don't know the exact period.
2nd century B.C,mom says
#4 What is the woman's role in Hinduism?
Please tell your mom thank you any input she can add is very much appreciated
As you may know, one of our main gods, shiva is depicted with one half as female.this shows the importance of womanfolk.thats why we name the rivers with names of women.they depict fertility, holiness etc.,
In our text book it says a woman's role is linked to that of her husband, who takes the position of her God and teacher can you elaborate on this?
yeah.though we respect womenfolk a lot,we may seem a bit rude over them.we pose on them a lot of responsibilities. They also don't feel any difficulty in raising the family.since women in india don't go out frequently and were denied education a husband becomes a teacher.but of course things have changed a lot in modern times.the statement in your book doesn't apply to today's state of affairs
Good answer
thanks :)
next question?
according to our text book there are 16 rites prescribed in the ancient scriptures to purify and sanctify the person on his or her journey through life, including rites at the time of conception, the braiding of the pregnant mother's hair, what is the significance of this?
just 16? idk we have many more rites.i just don't concentrate on these things. But the elderfolk care a lot for these kind of things.
could you ask your mom
my report is due on sunday by 11:59 pm
the 16 rites are followed by only the most religious of the families.
