if 2 angles of an isosceles trapezoid are randomly selected, what is the probability that they will be supplementary?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

what have ou tried...where are you stuck?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

*you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i said 1/2 cause there total 4 angle and opp angles add 180 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that

OpenStudy (zarkon):

more than the opposite angles add to 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for ur first pick yu can pick any angle so its 4/4 for the second pick yu hav to pick the angle dat is opposite to da first one, and yu have three to pick from, therefore 1/3 (4/4)*(1/3)= 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh? sorry i get it

OpenStudy (zarkon):

D and B add to 180 but so do D and A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wouldn't the answer be 2/3 you chose the first angle randomly then you have chose the rest angle which are supplementary to that which 2/3 angles.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @Zarkon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

angles D and B do not add up to 180 :/

OpenStudy (zarkon):

yes they do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no they dont lol
