sin^2x-cos^2x=1 for all values of x true or false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I know that sin^2x PLUS cos^2x = 1 so...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Medal please?

A simple proof would be to add cos^2 to each side, then you would have 1-cos^2 = 1+cos^2. Subtract 1 from each side and --> -cos^2 = cos^2 which is absurd.
