I need help with probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which type of probability?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How probability is determine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, there's the normal probability that you find, and then there's permutations and combinations, and then there's Poisson, Binomial and Normal distributions, which are all probabilities.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a question on probabilities??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a question is the way to go here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which method may be more difficult than other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends on what kind of probability you are finding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand the whole thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm...for one. I know Probability is divided into Independent and Dependent probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example let say we are looking for the possible results of head and tail in a coin flip.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The events that occur in a toss of coin is either head or Tail so S = {H,T} Which the probability of obtaining a Head is 1/2 and the probability of getting a tail is 1/2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about a dice? I know this look very simple but the true is I'm lost with this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, no worries, I just had a tough exam on probability on this. Tossing a dice The sample space, S for tossing a dice is S = {1,2,3,4,5,6} Therefore the probability of getting any number is 1/6 because there is a total of "6" numbers and in one toss of dice you will obtain one and only one number, which is 1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes thank you so much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :)
