Which was not a factor that led to the French Revolution? A. Discontent among the bourgeois B. Poor harvests C. An absolute monarchy D. The death of Louis XVI
its A :)
D. The death of Louis XVI Louis was executed as a result of the Revolution, but it didn't lead to it. The Revolution was already underway and the absolute monarchy he led was a cause.
this link says that, the death of louis XVI WAS a factor of the french revolution :) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_factors_led_to_the_french_revolution
Sorry, I wouldn't trust wiki answers in as much as some entries on Wikipedia. Here's a link from an actual school that contradict the wiki answer: Link at Mount Holyoke, History 151 https://www.mtholyoke.edu/courses/rschwart/hist151s03/french_rev_causes_consequences.htm
Thanks @Captain_Page_Turner :)
yes its a
No prob, just trying to help when I can. I'm just not very confident on (A) as an answer. The bougeoise were part of the crowd that were upset with how things were in France. King Louis XVI ruled an absolute monarchy which was one of the major factors for the revolution (the people had no say and felt that the aristocrats and nobles had too much power). When the people finally revolted after further mistakes by Louis XVI (remember his wife, Marie Antoinette, the one who supposedly said "Let them eat cake?") and increasing troubles, he was imprisoned along with Marie in trying to flee to allies who wanted to help him. Later, after a mock trial, he and Marie were beheaded becoming the Revolution's most high profile victims. Unfortunately, the Revolution had tasted blood and the beheadings wouldn't stop there as it became even more violent.
