sq rt of a negative number is the same as positive sq rt say sqrt 7 =2.65 sqrt -7 = same ?
yeah its the same just negative
sqrt of -7 is 2.65i you add an i because it's imaginary
but sqrt 7 and sqrt -7 are definitely not equal since the latter does not exist ;)
- sqrt 7 though...that's -2.65
isnt it the same as i said your smart talk confuses me
haha lol let me put it this way...sqrt -7 is NOT equal to -sqrt 7 sqrt -7 does not exist..why? because think of a number that when you square it becomes negative..no such number exist because the square of a positive number is positive and the square of a negative number is also positive therefore sqrt -7 is equal to "i sqrt 7" what does i mean? i is an imaginary constant. it is a constant that depicts that the number doesnt exist HOWEVER - sqrt 7 very much exists..it can be rewritten as -(sqrt 7) <--this means you take the square root of 7 THEN take the negative try inputting in your calculator sqrt -7 and youll get Math Error got the difference now?
