Which of the following ordered pairs is not a solution to the inequality y less than or greater to -2x - 3? A. (-1, 0) B. (-2, -1) C. (0, -4) D. (-4, 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for each you have an ordered pair (x,y) you simply plug these values for x and y in your inequality and see if it yields a true statement. for example to check if (2,3) is a solution to the inequality y<3x+3 you plug in x=2 and y=3 so y<3x+3 becomes 3<3(2) + 3 which becomes 3<6+3 which becomes 3<9 this clearly is true. the statement says 3 is less than 9 . thus (2,3) is a solution to inequality y<3x+3

Soo the answer is...? :)

Oh i forgot to add is your inequality " y<-2x-3 or y>-2x-3" if so i'll work it out for you :-)
