Does a target to a circle never pass through the center of the circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that tangent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yES

A tangent to a circle circle passes through the center of a circle. Sometimes, always, or never? I believe it's never, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i feel the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really hope someone's not going going to force me to stay up hours just to receive a yes or no response. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's never, you are correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless it's a point circle........... :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, thank you. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Last night, I had to stay hear hours to just get a simple yes or no. My dad had a baseball bat and threatened to beat me to death if I didn't get off the computer.

OpenStudy (maheshmeghwal9):

|dw:1339658096874:dw| As u see all the tangents does not pass through centre:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*here

OpenStudy (maheshmeghwal9):

ya:)

OpenStudy (maheshmeghwal9):

|dw:1339658371190:dw| D*=Diameter.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Tangent of a circle = line touches the circle = one intersection point with the circle. If it passes through the centre, there are 2 intersection points with the circle => not tangent anymore. So, it's never.
