Okay so I subtracted 125 from 180 right? and it gave me 55 degrees which is the answer. But I don't understand why it's 55 degrees? I only got the answer because I knew what the answer would end up being.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Triangles's angles sums are always 180 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I understand that but I mean since I'm finding angle BCA Why did I have to subtract 125 from 180? instead of including angle B n my equation?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so angle AD =180 degree ,yes ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh now that I look at it...Yes!

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so and angle C =125 degree ,yes ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

C like mBCD ,ok than angfle C inside triangle + 125 =180

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

than angle C inside triangle =180-125=55

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on let me just read this slowly.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

you have understood it now right sure ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHH. So what you're saying is that since we already know the measurement of angle C and we know that angle AD is a straight line equaling 180 degrees we would take 125 from 180 because that would give us...angle A? or wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or er. line AD.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

not so if you check it there angle C is divided in two parts one inside triangle and one exterior triangle ,yes ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so the line AD has a degree of 180 ,yes ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

and we know again that the exterior part of angle C is 125 degree so than just you need subtract from 180 this 125 degree and will get the measure of angle C inside triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I understand.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

good luck bye
