If C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12} and D = {numbers divisible by 4 from 1 to 12}, what is C ∩ D?

C ∩ D is whatever common to both sets C and D. Set D contains all of the numbers divisible by 3 from 1 to 12 (which are 3, 6, 9, and 12). So: C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12} and D = {3, 6, 9, 12}. Thus, C ∩ D = {3, 6, 9, 12}.
