can someone help me on his hmwrk question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 110 i think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 105..i dont know for sure i haven't done this for awhile

OpenStudy (radar):

Do you know what the sum of the interior angles of a pentagon equal ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm.540?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thhanks @kevmanwoo (:

OpenStudy (radar):

x + x+1 + x+2 + x+3 + x+4 =540 5x=540-10=530 x=106 so the largest angle is x+4 or 110 degrees

OpenStudy (radar):

smallest is 106 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha yay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh I see what you did! I get it! That makes sense.!

OpenStudy (radar):

@kevmanwoo, you're first was right, just goes to show stick with your "gut" feeling.

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes those were the 5 angles in consecutive order who sum must add up to 540.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@radar Can you explain one more to me? I did the work but..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(n - 2)180 is the formula right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! Oh i think i was supposed to divide 190 by two right? since a and D are congruent? then i get 95 either way?

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes you were on the right track, but the remainder (190 degrees) was for 2 equal angles. so a division by 2 gives you the solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHH SEE! Okay okay ! I tink i might get this after all

OpenStudy (radar):

I think you are doing just fine.

OpenStudy (radar):

You actually seem to enjoy working on those problems, that is always a plus.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It makes me happy when I understand something and get the right answer! Thank you for helping me!

OpenStudy (radar):

You're welcome and good luck with them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem!
