simplify. (x-1 y1)5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u type it properly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am trying to it go this way (x^-1 y^1)5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk, now I can understand that. \[(x^{-1}y^{1})^{5}\] we simply just times the powers together since there's a bracket between them, we can do this. \[x ^{-5}y^{5}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still don't get it are you saying y5/y5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or y5/x5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nono, we just have to times the "powers" so -1 times 5 and 1 times 5 , get it?
