OpenStudy (swag):

What would be the most appropriate dietary change for a patient who had her gallbladder removed? Reduce the intake of fat Reduce the amount of protein in the diet Decrease the intake of dietary fiber Avoid foods high in sugar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would go with the last choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it can't be the first one, right? Because apparently if you get your gallbladder removed it means your fat intake has been too low...

OpenStudy (blues):

The gall bladder produces bile, bilrubin and a number of other chemicals the body needs to digest fats. So a person with the gall bladder removed will no longer produce these chemicals, or be able to digest fats. What happens when a person eats something they can't digest - for example, what would happen if they drank car oil? They would get sick. So if fats are no longer digestible, should the person eat them or not?
