How does the electrolyte in drycell cause internal resistance?
i would imagine same as there is increase in resistance in pc procesors as temperature rises electrons move more so they give resistance to those directed electrons which give you electricity
u mean when the electron vibrate due to the heat impede the electrons movement around it?
yes something like that
well the electrolyte is not a conductor like a metal but some paste (as far as i could remember from my chem classes) so we must expect some resistance...with its use some chemical reactions take place which form some products which further increase the resistance with time as they decrease the conductivity of the mixture/paste..
So the internal resistance of a dry cell will increase with its age?
yes.as far as i can remember, some positively charged complex is formed which affect the flow of electrons inside the cell..
An electrolyte is a conductor, albeit one that conducts by the movement of ions rather than free electrons. All normal conductors have resistance. Simple as that.
