A specific event has the probability of 3/4. What is the probability that this event will not occur? 1/4 3/4 1

OpenStudy (mathsolver):

1/4 because that is 1-(3/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so u just subtract it?

OpenStudy (mathsolver):

yes, exactly

what about. Skip rolls a six sided die ten times and gets a 1 every time. What is the probability that on the eleventh roll he will roll a three? 1/11 5/6 1/6

OpenStudy (mathsolver):

Ok, so the previous rolls do not affect what side the dice is going to turn up on next. since there are 6 sides and one must assume an equal probability for each side then 1/6 is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so just because the previous rolls were all 1s that doesnt affect it?

OpenStudy (mathsolver):

not at all
