Here is a three volume set of Russian Maths books (written in English in case you're wondering) which I love: Title: Mathematics, its content, methods, and meaning Edited by: A.D. Aleksandrov, A.N. Kolmogorov, M.A. Lavrent'ev Translated by: S.H. Gould and T. Bartha The M.I.T. Press First M.I.T. Press Paperback Edition, March, 1969 Library of Congress Card Number: 64-7547 Printed in the United States of America They cover a very wide range of mathematical concepts and go into the history of how they were discovered.
