A jar contains 3 red, 4 blue, and 5 white marbles. What is the probability of drawing first a red and then, without replacement, a white marble? 5/44 5/48 31/44

Parth (parthkohli):

First of all, see the probability of getting a red marble. It'd be 3/(3 + 4 + 5) or 3/12 or 1/4. Now as we don't replace, we'd have one red marble less and the number of marbles would be less by 1. We get 5/11 as the second one.

Parth (parthkohli):

Now simply multiply: \(\Large {1 \over 4} \cdot {5 \over 11}\)
