Let A = {t-shirt, tank} and let B = {shorts, pants}. Find A X B. {t-shirt, tank, shorts, pants} { } {(t-shirt, short), (tank, pants)} {(t-shirt, shorts), (t-shirt, pants), (tank, shorts), (tank, pants)}

I think it's the last one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the last one you are right because that's what you get by using the FOIL method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FOIL.. method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, outer, inner, last. That's just how my teachers explain multiplying like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Yes the last one is correct, but the FOIL method is completely irrelevant here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no FOIL here, that is a mnemonic devise to remember how to multiply a two term polynomial by a two term polynomial. forget it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put foil out of your mind and moveon.org

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not completely irrelevant because you still use it to get all the answers, even though there aren't numbers. It's still the same basic idea.
