how do you find the points of a terminal side given a degree such as -210?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me solve this problem.thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to find a coterminal angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes . by adding or subtracting 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right. so what's the coterminal angle between 0 and 360?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but im talking about the terminal. not the coterminal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's really the same thing. coterminal angles are angles that have the same terminal side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to find the point, you'd go to the unit circle and pick out the coordinates for 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that cant be the answer because the answer for coordinates to terminals usually have sqrt 3 or a 1 or both 1 and sqrt 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At 150 the coordinates are |dw:1340350156210:dw| But having a √3 or 1 isn't a necessity. If the angle was 45°, √2would be involved. Or you could have a point that isn't on the unit circle at all.
