can someone help me and explain how to find the sample mean of a sample of a population, given the population mean and standard deviation

In this case, you would assume the sample mean is the same as the population mean, if you don't have the set of sample data. If you did have the sample data set, the sample mean would be the average of those values. sample deviation =deviation of the population/sqrt(n=sample obs) and mean will be same if no data is given
