What does the "quadratic portion" of a quadratic equation mean?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

its just the x^2 term i think..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! what is the "constant" of a quadratic equation?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

\[ax^2 + bx + c = 0\] in above quadratic equation "c" is the constant term... it is the coffecient of x^0

OpenStudy (nikolas):

"a" and "b" are also constant, as well as "c" - as opposed to x which is a variable.

You're Awesome! 'preciate it!!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yw.. :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

@Nikolas "constant term" in a quadratic equation and "number constant" are different. terminology is different here

OpenStudy (nikolas):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
