find the x intercepts for the graph of the equation y=x^2+3x-4

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

if you want to find x intercepts (the points where your graph crosses the x-axis) just plug in y=0 and then solve the quadratic equation..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k i did it the long way and got that x was 1 and -4 so am i correct cus my answers are (1,0) and (-4,0)

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

x=1 and x=-4 are your solutions right? Those two are the first coordinates of those two points...the y coordinates are zero...that is the reason for (1,0) and (-4,0)....it would look like this:|dw:1340579451059:dw|
